This week I watched two seasons which is 26 episodes of the Fx tv show “Wilfred”. It was interesting….and weird.
It’s based on an australian tv show created by Jason Gann who is also playing the title character in the US version, the dog Wilfred. Also in lead role is Elijah Wood as the dogs best friend.
You can say that Wilfred is a show about a troubled young man (Wood) who talks to his hot neighbor’s dog Wilfred (Gann) who apparently talks to a stuffed bear, named Bear. (actually Wilfred and Bear are in an open relationship though Bear doesn’t know this)
You’re not gonna find this show particularly funny, but it’s mysterious, trippy and still the humor is priceless but subtle. The performance by Jason Gann is a total win and Elijah Wood is right there with him. I haven’t spent much time with dogs, but their behavior is almost perfectly captured.
You must watch it. The third season of the show is expected to begin in June 2013.
