Inspired by The Desolation of Smaug and the fact that Peter Jackson needed not one, not two but three masters of archery in the sequel for The Hobbit, I decided to make a small list of archers in recent movies. BTW only one of those archers in The Hobbit is dubbed the Bowman and the other two are elves, but I guess they count too.
Here are ten movie archers, coincidentally there are five male and five female archers in the list.
1. Susan Pevensie played by Anna Popplewell from the Chronicles of Narnia. Susan was sort of pushed in the archery thing, like here’s a bow and arrows now it’s your turn to be excellent at it.
2. Hawkeye played by Jeremy Renner in The Avengers. He is a trained specialist, not a super hero like his other buddies but wielding a crossbow/bow is his super power.
3. Abigail Whistler from Blade: Trinity played by Jessica Biel. Whistler’s daughter uses her crossbow to fight vampires.
4. Theseus from Immortals, played by Henry Cavill. Theseus is a greek hero, child of the gods, he wields the Epirus Bow.
5. Tauriel from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug played by Evangeline Lilly. A made up character, well like the rest of them but we have no background for her except the trailers for The Desolation Of Smaug and some posters with arrows. Maybe all elves are great archers, who knows.
