Star Trek Beyond gets Shohreh Aghdashloo from The Expanse

It was announced that Star Trek Beyond is in schedule for reshoots and those reshoots will include Shohreh Aghdashloo! That is some exciting news for The Expanse fans.

While no one has stated an official reason for the reshoots, best guess with no other news on the matter means that they are expanding the storyline and correcting plot issues. This is to be expected with the shaky production Star Trek has been having from start which resulted in plenty of rewrites, and now, even reshoots quite a while after the shooting has finished. But who can complain about news like this.

Shohreh Aghdashloo will play a member of the Federation High Command. Considering her role as Chrisjen Avasarala on SyFy’s The Expanse, I can’t think of any other actor that is better suited for such a role!

It will probably be a small part in the storyline, but who’s to say over what we can be excited!

Star Trek Beyond is the third movie since the franchise reboot, and is directed by Justin Lin. Starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Zoe Saldana. Premieres July 22, 2016.
