Directed and co-written by Korean Bong Joon Ho, based on the French comic book Le Transperceneige this year comes the Snowpiercer.
The Snowpiercer is the last train on earth that travels the globe powered by a perpetual-motion engine carrying the last of humanity upon it, never stopping, while the rest of the planet is glaciated. As you can see from the wallpapers there are several classes of people developed on the train as they try to survive as long as possible. Tilda Swinton and Ed Harris play the government of the train, might I add Swinton looks amazing in any role. Chris Evans and Jamie Bell play rebels, and Octavia Spencer, Ewen Bremner, Ko Asung play the “regular” people. And of course there’s a sage, John Hurt. You can watch the trailer on youtube.
What do you think? Korean director, French comic book, American/British actors, will they actually do it?
There’s an information about the webs that the american version of the movie is much shorter than the korean.
This is the first time in this year that I am actually excited about an upcoming movie. I know The Desolation of Smaug premieres tis December but it doesn’t really count since it’s a sequel and we knew the schedule for The Hobbit movies long ago.
