The English Patient is a 1996 movie by English film maker Anthony Minghella about people who have found each other just before and during World War II.
This movie will keep you intense and eventually will make you cry. It will break you heart so it’s best that you watch it with your partner. There’s the romance, forbidden love, war and betrayal elements to it, but the love is inviolable. If you find a cinema that would be showing this movie today (which is unlikely), I’d say that would be the perfect place to take a girl or boy on a first date or your current loved one, anyone really.

The English Patient is based on the same novel by Michael Ondaatje, it won 9 Oscars in the 96′ Oscars, but I was a bit young and not interested in movies as much. Now it’s one of my all time favorites with a story that will never die.
