About 35 years after the first Blade Runner movie, a sequel will start with production and shooting in July 2016.
So far only Ryan Gosling is cast for an unknown role and Harrison Ford will repeat his role as Rick Deckard. Denis Villeneuve will direct the sequel. This happens after Sony acquired the rights for the movie from Alcon Entertainment.
The first Blade Runner movie was released in 1982 and was directed by Ridley Scott who will be one of the executive producers for the new movie.
Based on Philip K Dick’s novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” back then the movie flopped at the Box Office, but today it is a highly acclaimed movie that gained a huge cult following.
