Leonardo DiCaprio wins the Oscar! He can start doing mediocre movies now and the internet needs to find something else to nag about.
So, Alejandro G. Inaritu is the third director in history to won the Oscar for directing in two consecutive years. Brie Larson as expected won the Oscar for actress in a leading role and Leonardo DiCaprio for best actor for his monumental role in The Revenant.
Spotlight was acknowledged as the best picture of the year. It comes of a little weird that the best picture won only one more Oscar, for best original screenplay.
You could say that this year the Oscars had no obvious and strong dominant winners, apart from Mad Max: Fury Road which won all technical awards. The Revenant and Spotlight were the other two movies to win multiple Oscars.
