The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is halfway through its run with episode three, titled “Power Broker” and it takes us into the city of Madripoor.
The episode was somewhat interesting, possibly the most interesting episode so far, but that is not surprising, considering that only with 6 episode, each episode till the end will be better than the previous one.
We do not get to meet the power broker in this episode and it is a first episode where Sam does not use his wings.
Sharon Carter was the most badass we’ve ever seen, compared to her previous appearances in the movies….and funny too.
Spoilers ahead!
Let us start with the screencaps and plot:
After a brief GCR commercial, we get to see the new cap in action, trying to locate Karli, but without any luck.
Poor John Walker, he cant get any respect anywhere.
I mean, look at Bucky and Sam, they’d rather work and plan an escape from prison for Zemo, than with the new captain, which is kind of a bad plot right there but ok.
So, Zemo is rich, enlsited and he has a lead in Madripoor, but before that a touching scene with Karli and insight into her background and why she has chosen her path.
The reunion with Sharon Carter:
Sharon manages to find a lead on who is creating the super serum again, and while the boys are chating with him, she manages to deal with a small army of bounty hunters outside the shipping containers.
Dr. Nagel explains why the super serum appeared now, apparently he was able to recreated five years ago, hired by the Power Broker, but with Thanos’ snap he disappeared just like half the planet, so here he is now making it again, and much better then the original. he also said that Karli Morgenthau stole the 20 vials of serum and there isn’t any left.
In in the next scene we see that Karli is not afraid or worried about the power broker, despite the texts she received in the second episode, where se was threatened, probably by the power broker.
The final scene of the episode shows Zemo, Sam and Bucky in Riga on the tracks of Karli, but Bucky separates from the group, because he wanted to take a walk (not suspicious at all) and here comes Ayo from the Dora Milaje, stating her reasons right away.
Is Sharon Carter the Power Broker?
Now, according to the comics this isn’t so, but let’s look at this episode.
The title of the episode is Power Broker, and we do not get a sense at all at who is the Power Broker, but the focus of the epsiode is on Sharon Carter.
Another reason, why she might be the Power Broker is she found Dr. NagelĀ very easy, almost as if she knew where he was and she wasn’t hoping that he would get killed, so when she got in the lab after Zemo sot him, she was very surprised “What did you do?”. And there was that “we have a big problem” when her bodyguard came to pick her up after she separated with the boys.
She was also very upset Selby got killed too, almost as if she would miss her, as part of her future endeavors in Madripoor.
Sharon probably isn’t the original Power Broker, but she inherited the title in secret, and there is always the chance that she is actually working under cover and that pardon she agreed upon with Sam isn’t really needed.
