Lionsgate released the first poster of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I, the poster just like the posters for the previous two films follows the style of the book covers. There’s a slight difference in the angle in which the mockingjay is presented that really reflects on the famous scene of Catching Fire when Katniss’s wedding dress turns into the mockingjay outfit.
The last book cover and poster where the mockingjay spreads its wings wide, head held high, symbolizes the revolution that is about to begin and the leap to freedom. The “mockingjay” is no longer afraid.
Below you can see all book covers and how they compare to the posters. It remains to be seen though what will be the poster for Mockingjay Part II, since they are splitting the book in two movies, and they’ve already used the book cover for the first Mockingjay movie which (traditionally) premieres in November, 2014.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I will be directed by Francis Lawrence who also directed Catching Fire. Besides the already known cast from the previous films (Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth) in the Mockingjay films Natalie Dormer joins the cast as Cressida and Julianne Moore as the president of District 13, Alma Coin.
